Description:
The aim of research to study the spider community in paddy fields as part of the food chain. The study was conducted in irrigated rice fields in the village of Banjar Regency Sungai Rangas, South Kalimantan since the month of June to October 2011. To find the spider community has made catching spiders using insect nets every week since one month old rice plants after planting until harvest or 13 times. Spiders were caught were identified in the Laboratory of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture Unlam Banjarbaru then referred to the Laboratory of Entomology LIPI in Cibinong. The results of identification have been found nine types of spider Tetragnatha maxillosa (313), Oxyopes javanus (34), oxyopes salticus (20), Argiope spp (1), Pardosa pseudoannulata (51), Arctosa janetscheki (2), Carrhotus sannio (13), Maripissa magister (16), and heliophanus sp. (7).
