Abstract:
Wilt disease caused by the bacterium Ralstonia solanacearum, especially on banana crops and vegetables is a very detrimental disease. These disease includew soil borne group (soil-borne disease), so the loss of up to 100%. The use of bactericidal very much and dangerous, so the impact on the environment, the death of beneficial soil microorganisms and soil pollution. The purpose of this study is to explore and determine the ability of Pseudomonas fluorescens to suppress soil borne pathogens of banana plants located in South Kalimantan. Method of soil sampling on banana crop lands and the tomato pathogen attack from the district Banjar and Banjarbaru City. The results showed that as many as 10 isolates potential as biological control antagonists in petridish tests, the ability of these isolates have differences, so that only 4 potential. The conclusion that banana lands and farmlands of banana is attacked by many bacterial pathogens have antagonistic own pathogen agents.

Penggunaan agens antagonis dari beberapa isolat Pseudomonas fluorescens yang dapat digunakan sebagai agens antagonis bagi bakteri penyebab penyakit layu pada pertanaman pisang di Kalimantan Selatan. Penggunaan agens antagonis ini ternyata dapat mengurangi penyebaran dan perkembangan penyakit layu bakteri yang disebabkan oleh Ralstonia solanacearum (soil borne disease) yang sangat berbahaya pada pertanaman pisang. Pengujian ini dapat mengurangi dan menekan perkembangan penyakit ini sampai 60%.
