The research purposes are to describe what educational value is in the lives of the
Banjar community in Sungai Rangas Ulu village, Kabupaten Banjar; and to describe the
contribution of the educational values of the life of the Banjar community in the Sungai
Rangas Ulu village, Kabupaten Banjar, as a source of social sciences learning at junior high
school. A qualitative approach is used in this research. The technique of collecting the data are
interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis starts from the reduction,
presentation, and verification of data. The results shows that the dominance of parents in rural
communities seems so clear that makes people feel dependent on the presence of parents or
elders in the community. Parents are used as role models for community life. Moreover,
educational values that arise from life, namely; religious, ethical and social. The form is in the
form of; Religious; dominant religious activity, Ethics; inheritance of cultural values from
generation to generation, and Social; manifestation of harmonious relations between owners
and cultivators of agricultural land. The contribution of educational values and social cciences
learning resources is an integrated form of educational value and Social Sciences learning. The
resources of Social Sciences learning must be seen as a unified whole in a learning process.
Thus, they are practical and effective in the soul and human actions and objectively
institutionalize in society.
