In order to determine some supporting locl factors in the swamp buffalo production in District of Daha Barat, HSS , a study was carried out. The study was conducted through a survey method include observating area, taking an analizing samples of soil, water, water balance, bioclimate, swamp grasses, also blood and feces of buffalos. Result show that swamp buffalos maintained extensively in swamp areas about 1200 ha with minimum management. The stocking area has relative long dry period (July-Oktober) that affect wateh quality (pH=5.8, COD=3.51, BOD=16,86 samll contamination( suitable bioclimate, but infertile soil with pH=3.58. the swamp stecking area has some specific swamp grasses such as padi hiang, kumpai mining, kumpai minyak, sempilang, purun tikus with good nutrients and carriying capacity about 3000 buffalo heads. No important desease was detected except worm (pamaphistomum and fasciola) inf buffalo population |
