Abstract:
Sasirangan fabric is a traditional textile from South Kalimantan. Workers in the Sasirangan industry are at risk of occupational diseases. The objective of this study is to analyze occupational diseases related to the behavior of workers in the Sasirangan industry in Banjarmasin City. This study uses an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at three Sasirangan industry locations in Banjarmasin City. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 30 workers. The research instrument uses a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis and statistical analysis with the Chi-Square test and the alternative Fisher Exact Test. The univariate analysis results showed that 83% of Sasirangan industry workers are currently or have previously experienced occupational diseases, 77% of workers exhibited poor behavior, and the most common occupational disease among workers was Low Back Pain, found in 12 workers, followed by Irritant Contact Dermatitis in 10 workers. Bivariate analysis results indicated a significant relationship between occupational diseases and the behavior of Sasirangan industry workers, with p=0.006 and OR 29.333 (2.404-357.848). Follow-up actions are needed to increase knowledge about occupational disease prevention behaviors among workers in the Sasirangan industry in Banjarmasin City.
