Abstract:
Asymptomatic bacteriuria is a common UTI in pregnant women. If left untreated, 20%-30% will
develop into pyelonephritis. Proper screening and treatment of UTIs in this population can prevent
pyelonephritis and adverse perinatal problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence
and profile of UTIs in obstetric cases based on age, occupation, address, parity, gestational age and urine
sedimentation results in the OBSGIN section of Ulin Banjarmasin Hospital for the June 2021-May 2022
period. This research method is descriptive by taking data through the patient's medical record. The number
of subjects of this study amounted to 264 people. The results of this study show that the prevalence of UTI
obstetric cases in the June 2021-May 2022 period was 270 people (34.8%). Based on the most age, there
were 191 people in the age range of 20-35 years (72.3%) with 186 non-working jobs (70.5%), and addresses

the most in multipara as many as 94 people (35.6%) and gestational age in the III trimester as many as 221
people (83.7%). Based on the results of urine sedimentation, the greatest number of leukocytes ≤ 3 LPB was
obtained as much as 54.2%, the number of erythrocytes > 2 LPB as much as 80.3%, negative epithelial cells
as much as 82.2% and negative cylinders as much as 97.7%.
