Abstract:
The city of Banjarbaru, the candidate for the new capital of South Kalimantan Province,
is a city that is growing quite rapidly, marked by many infrastructure developments to
support the transitional capital program. On the other hand, this city is also part of the
Kalimantan Province which has quite high rainfall. BMKG recorded several extreme rain
events in the last 10 years in this city. With the potential for excess rainwater in
abundance, technology is needed to utilize the rainwater, so that it is not only wasted or
can even cause a major flood disaster in Banjarbaru and its surroundings. The purpose
of this counseling is to introduce and provide education on the Rainwater Harvesting
(PAH) system to several schools in the city of Banjarbaru which is expected to provide
insight into the knowledge about the importance of using rainwater to meet daily needs.
The extension method is in the form of lectures, discussions and questions and answers,
as well as explanations using visual images. The expected result of holding this
socialization is that the school apparatus in the city of Banjarbaru can understand the
importance of rainwater and the PAH system so that they can implement it in the future.
