Abstract:
Stomata Density, Color and Chlorophyll Levels of Kelakai Leaves (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm.F) Beddome) Based on Two Different Growing Location and Leaf Age. This study aimed at analyzing the characteristics of anatomical, color of leaves as well as chlorophyll contents of the kelakai leaves (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm.F) Beddome) at 2 (two) different growing locations in Banjarbaru region, namely Cempaka and Liang Aanggang. Methods for leaf anatomical testing using a whole method (whole mount), leaf color testing uses image analysis in Banjarbaru School Multimedia Laboratory, South Kalimantan. Fresh leaves are then cleaned. To get images, kelakai leaves are scanned by Canon LiDE 110. The RGB value is determined with a free software imageJ, the chlorophyll content testing uses UV/VIS spectrophotometer in Biochemical Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine of Lambung Mangkurat University. The results of research suggest that the color of leaves, the density of stomata and the content of kelakai leaves chlorophyll from Cempaka and the Anggang Liang does not show different results, due to the same environmental conditions. The greener old leaves have a lower burst density and higher chlorophyll content than the pink leaves that tend to be red. In general the gray leaves from 2 (two) locations and at various ages of the leaves of their density are low. However, it is necessary to be researched more about the characteristics of habitat in detail on the location of the sampling site.
