Abstract:
The education of Indonesia is responsible for creating high-quality students with many skills in which one of them is the critical thinking skill. The development of local-bse ecin eri iroes e sens’ critical thinking skills as they are provided with a direct example or learn ooin eir re’s oc oeni is reserc ied to develop fishtype teaching material in the mangrove area and describe the developed ecin eri o iroe sens’ criic inkin skis e reserc model was a formative evaluation model developed by Tessmer. The research subjects were five tenth grade students for a small test and fifteen tenth grade students for a field test. The data were analyzed using descriptive and categorization techniques. The expected effectiveness on a small test group before the teaching material was used was below the passing score, with 32 on average. It increased to 87 on average after the use of fish type teaching material. The actual effect on the field test obtained N-gain were problems formulation at 0.9 in the high category, hypothesis formulation at 0.7 in the high category, data collection at 0.9 in the high category, data analysis at 0.8 in the high category, and conclusion drawing at 0.9 in the high category.
