Abstract:
This study aims to determine the ability of Batra in his knowledge using traditional
medicinal plants in Halong District, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The knowledge
of Batra and the community in the use of medicinal plants is very diverse both in terms of processing,
how to use, the parts used and the efficacy of each type of plant that can cure a disease or be used
as a prevention against a disease that is often suffered by the community. The method used was an
interview with Batra in order to obtain information from the Meratus Dayak community in Halong sub district, Balangan district about the use of plants used as medicine and determining key informants
who knew more about medicinal plants. The results obtained from this study are approximately 20
types of plants that are often used as medicine by Batra in Halong sub-district. The percentage shows
the highest utilization, namely 40% root, 30% leaf part, and 20% stem part. Utilization of thorns and
feathers on plant parts was found to be only 5%. The type used by all parts of the plant is 5%.
