Abstract:
Indonesia has a very large and very large forest area to be used for the benefit of living things, both in the form of wood and not wood, such as palm plants. Palm plants have high economic potential because almost all of their parts can provide financial benefits. One of the ecosystem members that plays an important role in the growth of palm tree stands and ecosystem balance is the lower plants. The diversity of lower plants is one that is very eye-catching around the palm stand because it is very diverse and provides a different community structure, so it is very interesting to study further. This study aims to look at the diversity of plant species below around the palm stand (Arenga pinnata Merr) in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. Data capture uses a circle measuring tile with a radius of 1 meter and a distance between measuring plots of 10 meters as much as 20 measuring plots with purposive sampling starting point determination. The inventory results showed that found as many as 21 types of lower plants with the greatest level of mastery in this study were the Type of Lyrics (Phrynium pubinerve) with an important value of 63.64%, ground orchids (Curculigo latifolia dryand) with an important value of 48.82%, Cambai (Piper baccatum Blume) with an important value of 38.90%.
