Abstract:
The curriculum of Science Education Department of Lambung Mangkurat University has emphasized inquiry culture as
the learning paradigm. Every student should be able to find and construct information individually to make them their
own. Therefore, students are directed to be active learners, to investigate wetland flora and to build their knowledge
meaningfully. The science-learning process should be supported by a motivating learning environment, and instructional
materials to facilitate them relate their prior knowledges to the new concepts. The availability of instructional materials
will help to culminate students' thinking skills. So, It need to develop a experiment module to mediate the maximum
development of creative thinking ability.
The objective of this research is to develop module of wetland flora, especially about the physical characteristics of
plants and plant diversity. Effectiveness of the developed experiment module is described as (1) the lecturers’
investigative skills in managing learning (2) the students’ ability of creative thinking and achievement. The experiment
module was performed using the one group pretest-posttest design. Descriptive analysis data showed that (1) the
lectures’ have had investigative skills in managing learning which were indicated their ability to facilitate the higher
student reasoning (2) students' creative thinking ability is good category and (3) application of the experiment module
have mediated student's learning achievement.
