Abstract:
This study aims to detect the interference of reproduction of of Brahman Cross cattle parent which gave birth for more than 90 days and they do not have sex appeal yet. Although having been treated in Articial Insemination (AI) for more than twice, the pregnant still did not happen yet, (S/C>2). This research applies Radioimmunoassay techniques (Ria) by giving a hormone progesteron profile and also supported by
maintenance management aspect analysis.
This research was conducted in several groups of the cattle work group which located in Tanah Laut Regency. The work group consists of Tri Jaya, Mekar Jaya and the centre of Training and Dissemination of Integrated Technology of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of, Faperta Unlam Sei Riam and also some farmers in Banjarbaru. The preparation of blood sample for being analysed using RIA method at the Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture. After that the result of RIA is conducted at the Radioisotop Laboratory, Division of Energy and Isotope Research Center Activities of UNHAS. This research was conducted from April to December 2004.
The Results of research shows that the mother of Brahman Cross which possess more than 90 days of a torrid post-partum mainly caused by the unintensive detection of sex appeal. This may result of the condition of parent become decrease. Therefore, the post partum does not show up and have a lack of certain nutritional substances, especially vitamins and minerals. The mother of Brahman Cross cattle have more than the two S/C,
it caused mainly by the lack of nutrients such as certain vitamins and minerals. Next, there is an intensive sex appeal which makes the marriage time is not appropriate well.
