Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify farmers' local wisdom in land preparation and preparation activities in efforts to control and prevent forest and land fires. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from direct interviews with observations or directly see the activities of farmers in the field who live in Alimukim Village. Secondary data collected was obtained through Alimukim Village profile data. Interviews using a questionnaire were used to collect data about the characteristics of respondents, direct interaction with farmers, respondents 'knowledge and attitudes related to local farmers' wisdom. The results of this study are the manufacture of firebreaks by Alimukim Village farmers with a width of 1 to 2 meters, land management carried out by slash and burn systems, traditional equipment or modified equipment that is often used when preparing land such as hand spayers, machetes , hoes, axes and rakes.
