Abstract:
Agricultural activities contribute many waste in Indonesia, based on data from the Ministry of
Environment and Forestry in 2019 which states that Indonesia is a country that produces 67 million tons of
waste with a composition of 60% organic waste from the total waste produced. Agricultural waste can be use
as a basic material for the manufacture of organic fertilizers which can be reused to add essential soil nutrients
to increase plant productivity. In determining the quality of bokashi as an organic fertilizer we need to measure
the physical properties of bokashi which include color, smell and its chemical properties for determine the
maturity of bokashi. This study aims to compare the value of the chemical and physical bokashi of the waste
water from water spinach, spinach and cabbage with compost quality standards based on SNI No. 19-7030-
2004. The research was conducted in March 2021 to May 2021 at the Wahanana Loktabat Utara Banjarbaru
and at the Physics and Chemistry Laboratory on Department of Geology, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung
Mangkurat University. The method used in this study was a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD)
with treatments b0 (control/without vegetable waste) b1 (water spinach waste bokashi) b2 (spinach waste
bokashi) b3 (cabbage waste bokashi). The treatment was repeated for 5 times so that we have 20 experimental
units obtained. The results showed that the content of N-Total, P-Total, K-Total, C-Organic, bokashi color,
bokashi smell, and water content had fulfilled the criteria of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 19-
7030-2004 however, on the parameters of pH bokashi and C/N ratio of several treatments did not meet the
criteria of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 19-7030-2004.
