Abstract:
Energy Consumption in Indonesia increase along the number of homes, commercial building and
industry has growed, 95,2% Energy comsumption from fossil energy than only 4,8% of renewable energy.
The development of renewable energy is necessary to decrease of fossil energy consumption and create
environmentally energy. One of the new renewable energy is the energy of the biomass potential in Indonesia
such as coconut shell, food waste and wood powder. One of the biomass utilization with charcoal briquettes
was made by varying the mix of coal and biomass briquettes so getting qualified biocoal. Based on the test
results the var1iation is best mixed with a qalor value of B1 6.511, 34 cal/g, 2.78% moisture content, ash
content 20,65%, 44,09% volatile meter and fixed carbon 32,48%, moisture content has been qualified of SNI
and qalor value has been qualified of American, Japan, and SNI but the ash content, volatile meter content,
and fix carbon content hasn’t been qualified of overall standard.
