Abstract:
Along with the design of a technology product such as computer, smartphone and the others of gadget product which
have performance more increase but the size is smaller and thinner that caused the lead area for heating transfer to the
cooling performance is harder. One of ways to get efective working fluid by using TiO2/mercury nanofluid. This research
was aimed to determined thermophysical properties of TiO2/mercury nanofluid using prediction model which includes
thermal conductivity, density and viscosity. The data of thermophysical properties was taken with varying the
temperature and volume fraction of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% on temperature range 30 °C – 100 °C. The results showed that
the value of thermal conductivity of TiO2/ mercury nanofluid increased along with the increase of volume fraction and
temperature. Meanwhile the and dynamic viscosity of TiO2/ mercury nanofluid increased along with the increase of
volume fraction, but density the decrease. Meanwhile dynamic viscosity of TiO2/ mercury nanofluid the decrease
occurred along with the rise of temperature.
