Abstract:
Children with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) have major problems in the ability to focus attention. Difficulty in focusing will affect a child's ability to complete his task. Sensomotor exercise is an alternative to increase the ability to focus attention of ADD children by optimizing biological processes in the muscles in processing various sensory information. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of sensomotor coordination exercise in improving the ability to focus attention in ADD children in early childhood education in river area of banjarmasin city. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research method with time series design, pretest is carried out four times before being given treatment, then given treatment in the form of sensomotor coordination exercises and after that posttest is given four times. The subjects of this study were eight children with ADD. Research site at Sabilal Muhtadin Early Childhood Education, Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques using observation sheets and documentation. The data analysis technique was using the Wilcoxon rank test with a significance level (α) 0.025 Z table 1.96. The results of the study were seen from the ability to focus attention of ADD children on the results of the pretest and posttest, the calculation result of Z count was 2.52, then Z count> Z table, then it was concluded that there was an effect of sensomotor coordination exercises on increasing the ability to focus attention in children with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).
