Abstract
The population density is the size of the population in relation to the unit of space. Takisung Beach area is a famous tourist area located in Takisung, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan. In Takisung beach area there is lake which is one of the aquatic ecosystems in this area that have specificity. In lake are inhabited by various kinds of aquatic biota including zooplankton. The purpose of this research is to know the density of zooplankton contained in the lake of Takisung beach, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan. The method used in this research is explorative method with sampling technique to field using plankton net number 25. The research area along 1.5 km with width 40-60 meters and the depth are varied that is 80 cm at the tip and 200 cm in the middle. The samples of the study included zooplankton that was netted by plankton net number 25 at depth to bottom of waters. Sampling is done systematically ie the sampling point is placed on both sides and the middle of the waters with a distance of 100 meters per point. Sampling technique in transect and done two repetitions so that in the lake along the 1.5 km will be obtained as many as 90 samples. Density is calculated on the basis of the number of individuals per unit of liter unity. Based on the results of research, zooplankton density in the waters inundated Takisung Beach of Tanah Laut Regency is the highest density occupied by Actinosphaerium eichornii of 475.35 ind / L while for the lowest density occupied by Brachionus plicatilis of 19.63 ind / L.
