The purpose of this classroom action research is to increase the student’s learning quality at the fifth grade of Sungai Miai 4 elementary school Banjarmasin. The purposes of this result are to: (1) Describe student activity; (2) know student learning achievement by using Guess Word model at the fifth grade of Sungai Miai 4 elementary school Banjarmasin academic 2013 / 2014 for the topic struggle in maintaining independence of Indonesia. The result of the research indicate that: (1) Students activity at the fifth grade Sungai Miai 4 elementary school Banjarmasin by using model Guess Word at the first and second cycle of this classroom action research get very active category, (2) the learning achievement at fifth grade of Sungai Miai 4 elementary school Banjarmasin academic 2013 / 2014 in the topic maintaining independence of Indonesia get increasing after used model Guess Word.
