Description:
Data related to the type of feed and the height of feed taken by most birds in the reclamation and vegetation areas is not available. The study aimed to identify the types of food eaten by birds and determined the height from the ground where dominantly birds took or ate
food. The birds that arrived and were found in four reclamation and revegetation sites of PT Adaro Indonesia, Kalimantan Selatan were observed at 08.00-16.00. The data recorded was the name of the bird species, the type of food eaten, and the height from the ground where the bird either took or ate food. Frequency of occurrence (birds eat something and at a certain height) were tabulated. The types of feed were grouped in fruits, seeds, nectar, insects, fish, and others. Altitude classes were 0 - <5 m, 5 - <10 m, and 10 - <15 m above ground level. Twenty-four bird species were found using reclamation and revegetation areas to find and get food. The type of food that was most often used as food by birds was an insect. The height of the place where birds looked for or got food was in 5 - <10 m from the ground.
