Illegal fishing, in term of capturing juvenil giant fresh water shrimp, in Martapura River is commonly conducted by people (farmers). Changing this activity to shrimp culture is a proper and strategic step. The aims of technology application in a shrimp rearing were to improve the knowledge and skill of farmers in shrimp rearing and to charge slowly farmers practise from illegal fishing to legal fishing (shrimp culture). The methods were classroom lesson, demonstration and assistence. Evaluation showed that the knowledge and skill of farmer improved. The farmers were interested in the shrimp culture of pen system increased shrimp weight. The culture was economically feasible.
