Description:
The aims of study are to determine the length of time and power protection from essential oils contained in the leaves of Zodia (Euvodia suaveolens) against Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus L. This study used a completely randomized design of four treatments and three repetitions. The concentration of essential oils used were 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Testing is done by inserting 25 mosquitoes into a cage containing used fabric, then the cloth subsequently sprayed by essential oils. The mosquitoes exposed into cage for 8 hours and counted how many mosquitoes can landing on the cloth. The results showed that for a long time effective use of essential oils from Zodia as a mosquito of A. aegypti dan C. quinquefasciatus repellent material is ± 8 hours. While overall power protection (100%) against mosquito A. aegypti dan C. quinquefasciatus bites by essential oils from plant Zodia obtained at concentrations of 15% and 20%.
