Description:
Induction of mutation on local rice varieties have produced M5 and M6 lines in 2014 and 2015 respectively. More than 80% of M5 lines were uniform. Twenty-five of M6 of selected lines in 2015 to be tested responses in tidal land. The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth and yield of 25 of M7 mutant lines on tidal land. The research was carried out in Tanjung Harapan Village, Alalak District, Barito Kuala Regency of South Kalimantan since March to September 2016. The study was conducted based on a single factor of Randomized Block Design (25 lines + 3 controls) that was replicated twice. The variables observed were plant height, number of tillers, plant age, number of panicles, length of panicle, number and percentage of filled grains, grains weight per panicle, 1000 grains weight and yield. The results showed the performance difference between lines and controls. Plant height of all lines are shorter than the Cantik local variety while plant age of some lines are shorter than all controls. Some lines showed the performance of the characters are better than the control.
