dc.description Charcoal briquette derivate of rambai and api-api wasted wood, also called bio-briquette, is one of alternative energy environmentally acceptable and will solve energy shortage. The aims of the research are 1) produce charcoal briquette as an alternative energy on wet land area, 2) analyze briquette characteristics such as density, moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, bonded carbon and caloric value, 3) determine the quality of charcoal briquette. Research was held in Faculty of Forestry laboratory, Lambung Mangkurat University in Banjarbaru. Statistical analysis applied Complete Randomize Design (CRD), in which 4 treatments and 3 repetitions occurred. Result shows that the lowest moisture content is B treatment (70 % rambai and 30 % api-api wasted wood) 5.706 %, meanwhile the highest moisture content is A treatment (100 % rambai wood waste) 7.309 %. The highest density shows by Dtreatment ( 100 % api-api wasted wood), 0.662 gr/cm3 and the lowest density is C treatment (30 % rambai and 70 % api-api wasted wood), 0.589 gr/cm3. The lowest ash content is D treatment (100 % api-api wasted wood), 6.290 % and the highest ash content is C treatment (30 % rambai and 70 Api-api wasted wood), 9,590 %. The highest volatile matter is on D treatment (100 % api-api wasted wood) 56.577 % and the lowest is B treatment (70 % rambai and 30 % api-api wasted wood), 48,323 %. The highest bonded carbon is B treatment (70 % rambai and 30 % api-api wasted wood), 37.854 % and the lowest is D treatment (100 % api-api wasted wood), 31.292 %. The highest caloric value is B treatment (70 % rambai and 30 % api-api wasted wood), 6,858.26 cal/gr and the lowest is A treatment (100 % rambai wasted wood), 5,411.48 cal/gr
