Oral health of Indonesian people still be things that must have serious attention from the health service, including dentist or dental nurse. Based on the report basic health research (RISKESDAS) 2007 The Department of health released in 2009 revealed that proportion of people with problems with the teeth and mouth in South Borneo province as much 29.2%. Plaque have an important role to the formation caries and plaque cannot removed by simply gargle but needs to be done by mechanical cleaning is brushing teeth. In general population in various district province south kalimantan brush teeth every day 94,4 %. The prevalence of the population who behaves true rubbing teeth in the province of South Borneo as many 10.3 %.
Purpose: This research aimed to find out effectivity brushing method horizontal, vertical and roll to decrease plaque children ages 9-11 years SDN Pemurus Dalam 6 Banjarmasin. Methods: The type of this research was a Quasi Experimental with Pre-Post Test One Group Design. Using disclosing agent to identify plaque on the teeth before and after treatment and used index measurement personal hygiene performance of modified (phpm).
Results: There was significant difference between the effectiveness brushing method of horizontal, roll and
vertical. Conclusion: Horizontal brushing method was more effective clean plaque.
