dc.description.abstract The coastal area of Tanjung Dewa Village in the Panyipatan subdistrict of the Tanah Laut regency exhibits different physical geomorphological typologies. These conditions affect the diversity of community activities, as well as the area's environmental potential and issues. The environmental issues most commonly found in the research location are coastal erosion and tidal flooding. This study aims to analyse the physical typology of the coast based on geomorphology, to inform coastal management and development planning in Tanjung Dewa Village. This study employed a qualitative geomorphological approach to collect primary data through field surveys, landform and coastline documentation, literatures review and interviews with local village officials. Secondary data from remote sensing imagery, geological maps and slope data were used to supplement the analysis. The analysis revealed three typological categories: volcanic coast, marine deposition coast and sub-aerial deposition coast. The findings describe differences in landform and coastal types within a narrow area. Each type of coastal type has different environmental issues depending on the geomorphological processes that occur. This difference certainly affects the type of environmental management. The type of coastal management required differs according to the typology: for example, wave barriers and coastal protection structures are built on volcanic coasts, mangroves are rehabilitated for coastal protection on sub aerial deposition coasts, and local regulations are drafted for monitoring and protecting coastal and riverine areas. en_US
