Abstract

This research aims to find out how environmental deterritorialization and forms of land conversion in Banjar Regency are carried out specifically in Kertak Hanyar District and Gambut District. Apart from that, this research was also created to respond to the dynamics of land conversion expansion carried out by corporations (industry), the government and the community. This research was developed using a qualitative research approach. This research is field research using live-in observation instruments, FGDs and in-depth interviews, which is collaborated with literature studies to examine and understand how the deterritorialization of the wetland environment and the forms of land conversion are carried out. The research results describe that in Banjar Regency the importance of urban expansion is the most dominant aspect in causing massive conversion of wetland functions. Where housing construction in Kertak Hanyar District and industrial warehouses in Gambut District are the most dominant forms of wetland conversion. The parts of the ecosystem that are most frequently converted are land that was previously used for agricultural land, swamp areas that previously provided fish for the community, and small and medium rivers that previously functioned as waterways for agricultural land. and means of transportation for the community. This deterritorialization and land conversion certainly has several serious implications not only for the physical wetland environment but also has an impact on socio-cultural changes in society.
