Strengthening the Value of Digital Citizenship through the Podcasters Application for Students Citizenship Education in South Kalimantan

Abstract

Education and technological progress are 2 things that cannot be separated. Digital citizenship is one of the studies that is highly relevant to the demands of the 21st century learners. Technological advances aimed at education need to balanced with strengthening the values of digital citizenship, so that ethics and the direction of education are achieved. This research focuses on strengthening the value of citizenship through one of the applications offered through smartphones, namely the podcasters application. The main focuses of this research include: (1) What is the lecturer's strategy for implementing digital citizenship values through the podcasters application. (2) Good practice of strengthening the value of digital citizenship through the use of the podcasters application. The research results were obtained through descriptive qualitative research. This research contributes positively to the progress in the field of education, especially with regard to digital citizenship of the younger generation.
