This book is based on research conducted on teaching English skills to young learners
in wetland areas. More than perhaps anything else, such definitions reflect the difficulty of defining complex concepts. The components of the definition of learning can be extracted in the domains of learning as follows: (1) Learning is the acquisition or “getting.”, (2) Learning is the retention of information or skill, (3) Retention implies storage systems, memory, and cognitive organization,(4) Learning i involves active, conscious focus on acting upon events outside or inside the organism, (5) Learning is relatively permanent but subject to forgetting, (6) Learning involves some form of practice, (7) Learning is a change in behavior (Brown, 1982). |
