KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS IKAN YANG TERTANGKAP PADA PADANG HAWUI DAN MADANG-SIRANG DI WADUK RIAM KANAN KALIMANTAN SELATAN INDONESIA

Abstract

The Riam Kanan Reservoir is an artificial reservoir that has been for decades and has undergone a stabilization phase and has its own characteristics. Many studies on fish ecology and systematic have been done but fish diversity and distribution patterns from the point of view of conservation are very minimal information in the Riam Kanan Reservoir. The abundance of fish is studied and assessed from 2015 - 2017. We document and describe the total catch of 1,929 fish. Changes in the hydrological pattern due to various types of reservoir waters utilization pose the greatest threat to the diversity of fish found in the Riam Kanan reservoir. Overfishing is a threat to fish found in the Riam Kanan reservoir. This study requires the identification of the number and type of fish as conservation reserves to reduce the loss of fish diversity in the waters of the Riam Kanan reservoir.
