The purpose of the study was to determine the learning motivation of students with special
needs towards online learning at Lambung Mangkurat University. The research design used is a
quantitative approach using survey methods. The subjects in this study were students with special needs,
totaling 24 student respondents with various obstacles. Collecting data in this research by providing
questionnaires that have been made and distributed to 24 respondents of students with special needs via
google form and documentation. The study used data analysis techniques, namely statistics, with a
presentation using the mean and grand mean formulas. This mean is used by researchers to calculate the
average of the elements of learning motivation of students with special needs while the grand mean is
used to calculate the total average. Therefore, based on the research results show that there are two
elements of learning motivation, namely intrinsic and extrinsic. The results of the analysis of intrinsic
motivation have an average of 2.68 in the high category and extrinsic motivation have an average of
2.45 in the medium category. Of the two elements of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the learning
motivation of students with special needs for online learning at the University of Lambung Mangkurat,
they have an average of 2.56 in the medium category. Based on the two elements of learning motivation
that intrinsic motivation is greater than extrinsic motivation. So that extrinsic motivation becomes a
problem in the learning motivation of students with special needs. Thus, extrinsic motivation needs to be
increased by students with special needs.
