dc.description.abstract Galam (Malaleuca cajuputi subs. Cuimingiana [Turcz.] Barlow) contains phenolic compounds, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids, and terpenoids, which are assumed to have toxic properties. Each part of the plant contains different compounds that might affect its biological activity. This study aimed to analyze the toxicity of the methanol extracts of galam leaves and tree bark with brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT). This research was experimental, and the samples used were the methanol extracts of galam leaves and tree bark with concentrations of 10, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 ppm. Toxicity was assessed with BSLT, and LC50 was analyzed using probit analysis. The results showed that the LC50 value for galam leaves methanol extract was 141.86 (110.77-177.07) ppm and for galam tree bark methanol extract was 610.50 (495.03-745.36) ppm. It can be concluded that galam leaves and tree bark methanol extracts was classified as toxic, with the methanol extract of galam leaves having a higher toxicity than the methanol extract of galam tree bark. en_US
