This study aims to determine the utilization and processing of tradional thatched ethnic Banjarese communities. The Method of data collection was carried out in the survey and interviews conducted with respondents to determination of purposive sampling technique with a sampling intensity of 10%. Then the data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative approach to ethnobotany. The results showed that there is a kind of sago palm plants in the village distric Astambul the Metroxylon sagu Rottb. The percentage utilization of the leaves as roofing manufacturing (63,44%), stems as folder (48,92%) and production of sago/food sources (22,04%), stem pith as a drugs (20,43%), midrib to the wall cottage (10,21%) and manufacturing material plait (8,61%), umbut as materials for vegetables (29,56%) and the root can be used as drugs (23,65%). Utilization of thatch can be grouped as a source of food, handicraft tools, traditional medicine and fodder. Utilization of the plant is the most thatch leaves as raw materials for the roof and generally being a work of everyday people |
