The essence of science learning is the process of obtaining complex information that is not
just facts and concepts, but also a process of discovery, channeling creative ideas,
concluding, until making a decision. So that, in learning process is needed the right methods
to cover it, one of which is using the six thinking hats method. However, little is known about
the successful of adoption of six thinking hats methods. The purpose of this research were to
find out percentage of; (1) The improvement of students learning outcomes; and (2)The
improvement of student activity in process of science learning on Energy and Simple Aircraft
by using six thinking hats method at fifth grade in Elementary School. This articel explain us
that how six thinking hats method could be improving student learning outcomes and student
activity in elementary school. This paper also illustrate how this methode can be implemented
by elementary school teacher who are located in village with have many limited facilites. The
method used in this research is classroom action research which have two cycles, consist of
four steps, those were planning, acting, observation, and reflecting. Subject of this research
was student at fifth grade in Elementary School which consist of 30 students. Instrument
applied for collecting data of student’s learning outcomes by using test and collecting data of
student’s activity by using observation sheet. The result showed that: 1) improved learning
outcomes in two cycles clasically by 36,66%; 2) improved of student activity for every group
by 7,24% in two cycles.
