Abstract:
It takes 1000 years for the plastic to decompose by decomposing the soil completely. When decomposed, plastic particles will pollute the soil and groundwater. If burned, plastic waste will produce toxic fumes that are harmful to health, that is if the combustion process is not perfect, the plastic will break down in the air as dioxin. These compounds are highly dangerous if inhaled human. This article tries to answer the concept of plastic waste management in terms of the perspective of legal theory and how the policy of plastic waste management in South Kalimantan. The research conducted is doctrinal legal research with reference to the understanding that law is a means to organize changes in society (law as a tool of social engineering and law as a means of development). The results of this study indicate that the new paradigm views waste as a resource that should be reprocessed (use-oriented law) so that in addition to supporting Eco-Development it will also generate income that leads to the opportunity to open new jobs and opportunities to earn income for the region.
