Mung beans is one of agriculture commodities which has an excellent prospect to develop in Indonesia, as it is the third important legume after soybean and peanuts. Additionally, mung bean has ability to survive in dry area in dry season. The purposes of this study are to identify interaction effect between bokashi and water stress level, and to identify the single effect of bokashi and water stress treatments. The experiment used two factors of Completely Randomized Design, with bokashi treatment (with and without kirinyu bokashi) as first factor and three levels of water stress as second factor, with three replications. The results showed that interaction effect between bokashi and water stress on plant height with the best treatment at b1k0 (bokashi + without water stress), and on the number of productive branches with the best treatment was also at b1k0 (bokashi + without water stress), yet not significantly different from b1k1 treatment (bokashi + 50% water stress) and b0k1 (without bokashi + 50% water stress). The single treatment of water stress level was affected the plant height, leaf area, root volume and grain dry weight. It could be concluded that mung beans is able to grow with good yield in water stress conditions (50% of field capacity), with or without bokashi kirinyu. |
