Waste from the fish pond when flowed into the river waters will pollute the river water. Reduction the load of
fish farming waste into the river can be done by converting the waste to productive interests. This study aimed to utilize
the waste pond for culturing bloodworm (Chironomidae larvae). Experimental methods used to evaluate the efficacy and
optimal dose of African catfish pond waste to be used in culture bloodworm. The results showed that the African catfish
pond water containing solid waste were quite high, 0.380 ± 0.024 g dry weight/L. The dried waste have moisture content:
8.99 ± 0.12%, 24.80 ± 0.22% protein, fat 0.25% ± 1.88, 23.21 ± 1.02% ash, and organic carbon 67.80 ± 1.14%. The
use of dry waste for culture bloodworm produce higher yields than using wet waste or dried chicken manure. The use of
dry waste dose of 1.5 g/L provides bloodworm yields higher than the dose of 0.5 and 1.0 g /L. There is 380 g of solid
waste in 1 m3 of African catfish pond water. It is estimated can be converted into 360 g of bloodworm biomass.
