The main contrains encountered by Alabio duck farmers is the high cost of feed with a range of 70-80% of
total costs production. So to the press costs on production of necessary to arrange alternative other feed materials by
the used of local feed ingredients available in the countryside. One of the local feed ingredients that can be used as a
source of animal protein was fresh water snail. The fresh water snail qualified to replace fish meal because its
contains proteins that are relatively similar in the amount of 57.43%. However, if given directly in the form of fresh
turned out to give a negative response to the performance Alabio ducks. It is necessary for the processing of one of
them in the form of silage. One of the factors that affect the quality of silage is the length of storage, according to
Woolford (1984), that the storage time affects the value of silage nutrients, especially protein. According Dharmawati &
Firahmi (2009), that the fresh water snail was silage by using additives to produce crude fiber rice bran is relatively high
at 17.03 to 17.31% and 27.48% crude protein, so that was silae by using additives waste cassava containing fiber
14.09% and 29.35% protein. This study aims to indentified the level of used fresh water snail that is processed in the
form of using a silage additive waste cassava with different storage time in the ration on the performance layer Alabio
ducks phase layer. The study was an experimental by the using a completely randomized design consisting of 4
treatments and 5 replicates, ie : Without Fresh water snail Silage (control), SKO2: The used fresh water snail silage
with storage duration 2 weeks, SKO4: The use fresh snail of silage with a storage time of 4 weeks, fresh water snail of
silage with storage time of 6 weeks. The variables were observed in this study is the ration consumption (g/item ). Feed
consumption is measured by the amount of feed given to the rest reduced rations each week. Feed intake is cumulative
data for the study. Feed conversion ration is calculated based on the amount consumed be divided egg production. Egg
weight, is calculated from the production of duck egg / day with units of grams / item. Egg production. Calculated based
on the number of eggs produced week multiplied egg weight and egg production Daily (%). The Data obtained from the
study by analysis of variance (Steel and Torrie, 1995) was preceded by the homogenity test followed by Duncan test.
The results showed the highest egg production in Alabio ducks treated with additional feed silage in the ration fresh
water snail silage with storage time 4 to 6 weeks (61.16% to 64.73%), is the most efficient feed conversion in Alabio
ducks treated with additional feed silage fresh water snail with 4 weeks of storage (3.84) and the weight of the largest
eggs Alabio ducks treated with additional feed silage with waste cassava fresh water snail who storage for 2 weeks
(60.69 g / item).
