dc.description Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is the most important nutrition for baby until 6 months without any food or drinks addition. Based on Riskesdas 2013, in Indonesia the exclusive breastfeeding was still low that is only 38% while the government policy was targeting 80% in 2010. The status at public health center of Sungai Ulin in August 2015 was only 13,46%. The factor that causes lack of coverage of exclusive breastfeeding such as maternity place and husband’s support. The objective of this research is to determine correlation between maternity place and husband’s support with status of exclusive breastfeeding in the area of Sungai Ulin Public Health Center. Method: This research used an observational analytic with case-control study design. The sample in this study was mothers who have baby aged 6-12 months with 23 cases (non-exclusive breastfeeding) and 46 controls (exclusive breastfeeding) or the ratio of 1:2 was determined using the hypothesis test 2 proportion formula. The research used simple random sampling technique. Analysis that is used in this research using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test 95%. Results: The results showed there is correlation between husband’s support (p-value = 0,007, OR = 6,750) with status of exclusive breastfeeding and no correlation between maternity place (p-value = 1,000) with status of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: There was no correlation between maternity place with status of exclusive breastfeeding, and there is correlation between support husband’s with status of exclusive breastfeeding in the area of Sungai Ulin Public Health Center.
