Tanah laut has potential resources for the development of marine and fisheries sector. One of the economic activities in the marine and fisheries sector is a fish processing business is done traditionally by domestic fishermen because it does not require high skills and the equipment is simple. This research aims to inventory the fish processing business and analyze the feasibility of developing a fishery product processing business pursued by Tanah Laut’s coastal communities. The study was conducted over three months in the coastal villages in the district Kurau, Jorong, Takisung and Panyipatan. This study used qualitative research methods and descriptive. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and questionnaires and secondary data. Data processing was performed using analysis of profit, BEP production cost and feasibility analysis based on investment criteria. The results showed that based on capital investment, venture cracker processing fish/schrimp is the highest, while the lowest investment capital is dried schrimp processing. Results of the analysis of the advantages that businesses that provide the highest profits are processing fish crackers and shrimp crackers. |
